Just want this waiting to be OVER...

Okay, we took Tyler back about half an hour ago and you know what we feel like? We feel like a kid on Christmas night. All the packages that have been under the tree for a month and all the stuff there is to look forward to...is over. Yeah, we got to do cool stuff with Ty and we had a blast...but now it is back to reality. And we just want to KEEP him and not take him back. We are both a bit bummed. Well, actually, all three of us are. Tyler was very quiet and kept sighing heavily. We miss him already. We are pathetic.

Today we went downtown and ate at a cool restaurant that is decorated like an illustration from a story by a Ukrainian writer (not one I have heard of) - it looks like you are out in the country. Ty ordered what he wanted to eat which included green borscht (which is sans beets and cabbage), a beet salad, chicken Kiev and juice. We went to a couple stores downtown and bought some flash cards, an English/Russian dictionary (they speak Russian down in Crimea - NOT Ukrainian) and then a couple of fun books (Lion King mosaic sticker book and a a book full of graph paper and a pad of drawing paper). Then we went across the street to a store where we had spotted Hot Wheels and let him pick out 2 for him and 2 for his brother. THEN he started getting wide-eyed and started wanting balloons, markers, binoculars....He was fine when we told him no, but it was kind of funny - he only wanted ONE binocular... We told him we had balloons at home. So, we went home and he headed to the little store with papa to get ice cream (Hmmm, Grampa Smith, do you see a pattern you can continue with the new grandkids here???). When he got upstairs, he went right to the computer and wanted to play Bejeweled. I got it started for him and papa and he played for a while. Then we went through some flash cards and then he did a page in the mosaic Lion King book which I would have lost interest in about 2 minutes. Basically you are following numbered squares and putting stickers in each square according tot eh number and you end up making a mosaic-like picture. Like over 50 stickers about 1/2" by 1/2" and uh...slow. He did each one carefully. Impressive. More patience than his mother...imagine that! We got out the animal balloons and we all played with them (we made 2 dogs and the rest we inflated and deflated at each other). Papa and Ty played with the Hot Wheels (the one he got at McD's looks like he has played with it to DEATH! The tires are almost gone and it is one day old! He is also aware that it is one of a set...and is interested in the whole set (Don't know how we will work that! And what about his brother?!) We had him play on the computer in the kitchen while we cooked dinner and then we ate and...it was time to go. I am completely serious - we are depressed. My arms feel empty. I want my kids and I WANT THEM NOW!

Sooo - pray for us and pray for them. We are getting to the point of missing each other now. Pray those papers get here by Tuesday morning so we can start the final 10 day countdown. Keep praying for Vasya - he misses his family more the longer he is away. THANK YOU for all your prayers. We love you guys all so much.

Vissyo!

Ahh You're just experiencing the whole Mommy thing... like the first time you go off for a couple days and leave them... (or you won't let your sister take your child even though you're so sick, cuz you are fearful of an accident and you have to be there w/ your child, so you get in the car with them both and drive to Orange CTY!) It will be better soon - truly! You will all be together - Love you all, Fran

Tom and Lois,
We are so happy that you are getting to spend time with your boys. We can not wait to meet them. I can understand not wanting to leave them. It is like having to go back to work after being home for 6 weeks when they are born. Please let us know if there is anything that we can get for you before you can come.'
On a another note: Trevor was looking for "Miss Lois" today to play with your spider.
Trevor says hello and will tell you all about vacation when you get back.
We will keep all 4 of you in our prayers, and hope to see you for Christmas!
We love you and miss you.

First of all, you are not "pathetic" you are a mom and dad experiencing true unconditional love for your children. This love you have for your boys has been growing for a long time, and now any time apart just hurts.
I agree with "Yatta" , I too am unbelievably happy! It is hard to put in human terms just how we all feel. I cannot imagine trying to describe how you guys feel.
I certainly see many Hot Wheels making their way to the Fanelli household this Christmas...but as all are saying, what else can we do for you?
Please know that we are praying constantly for you all and we love you much,
Steve and Anita

Tom,Lois,Zach and Tyler,Art's on the look out for Hot Wheels. He says he has something better. How about driving around town in a blue convertible P.T.Cruiser? Maggie turned 16 today and last night she had a luau birthday party at the Civic Center. Lois she really wanted you there, but she understands your a new mommy. She wants you to know that you are her BBBBF! I can hardly wait to see your vocabulary flashcards. I'm know the Reeves are going to connect with the newest Fannell's especially if they like Diet Coke and ice cream. We are praying. Let the "countdown" begin.

Love, Art, Linda, Molly and Maggie

We are so excited for you guys - and are still praying each and every day for the Fanelli Four!

The kids in Children's Church have adopted Fran's 2F5L prayer - and we can't wait to have Ty and Zach join us in Children's Church!

Yes, let us know sizes so that we can make sure your boys have all that they need when you get the home!

We love you - are praying with you - and are counting down the days!

Take care of each other!

Tom & Lois,
You both definitely have a loving parent's heart, even though you're not "officially" parents yet! You know, even though our boys are already grown, we still get very excited when we get to be together, and always hate to say goodbye when it's time to leave. We are praying hard that you get the needed paperwork in plenty of time, so Ty & Zach can finally become your very own precious children soon--so you all can be home together for Christmas!!! Won't that be WONDERFUL?!!! We are so very happy for all 4 of you!!! We'd like to help you all any way we can.
Tonight was our children's Christmas musical, "Three Wise Men and a Baby". The kids did wonderful! Wish you could have been here! Just think, next year Ty & Zach will get to be a special part of our children's choir! :-)
We are looking forward to having the boys in children's church with us! It will be great getting to help them make many new friends, and being able to help share God's love with them. Kids are so awesome! When you're with Ty & Zach you need to practice giving them lots & lots of hugs so they won't be too overwhelmed by everyone's hugs when you all arrive home. We really miss you, & look forward to having you all here with our church family. We love you & keep you in our prayers every day. (You know, your blog is addictful! Many of us just seem drawn to our computers many times each day, anxious to get your latest updates.) Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us. It makes us feel a part of all you're going through, and helps us know better how to pray for you. May God bless you all & bring you home safely, soon! We love you!

T&L and Yatta,

We'll be up and praying with you. God has proven time and time again, that nothing is impossible for Him,even in this situation. Praying for the money to hold, and for you to see your family in Chicago on Christmas Eve.

Lois and Tom it was so good to hear your voice when we called yesterday. I wanted to talk for hours, but minutes were great!

We'll email again soon. Enjoy the time with that sweetie! Tell Ty we're praying for him (and Zach of course) during the next 10 days as well!

Love ya
Chel

Mom called while Dad and I were down in Dville to tell us about your court appointment. WOW! It is so great hearing you talk about your boys. You do sound so much like a mom and the boys sound so great. I told the boys to get together some of their transformers and other boy stuff and you can let me know (besides Hot Wheels, cause we have lots of those too) what else. love you guys! Marg
